Funding

In 2018, with the help of a generous Boeing sponsorship, LEAP expanded the services that we were offering to Veterans and their families and started the LEAP Veterans Outreach Program. Through this program, we are able to deliver much needed, high quality psychological services to Veterans and their families. The Boeing Company repeated their sponsorship in 2019 and 2020, enabling LEAP to continue to expand their services to the Veteran community and their families. In 2020 the Rock Harbor Foundation also awarded Lowcountry Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy a significant grant for the work that they were doing with Veterans, active duty military, and their families.

In 2019 Lowcountry Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy became an EAGALA Military Designated Program. With this designation, LEAP qualified as providers for The Veterans Administration ASG Grant, and with this grant and our other funding, we are most often able to provide services to our veterans at no cost to them.

Partners

LEAP also partners with Joint Base Charleston and various Veterans groups and organizations throughout the Lowcountry. Valuing the help that LEAP is providing for both active-duty and Veteran service members and their families, the 626th Wing of Joint Base Charleston volunteered their time and expertise at the LEAP facility. On a totally volunteer basis and using their weekends, active duty personnel and veterans built the new LEAP “Military Stable” that has become home to 3 additional horses and equipment for the Veterans Outreach Program.
